Lanka Shakthi Creative Mass Media Organization (LSCMMO) celebrated its sixth anniversary on 3rd April 2005 at Samanmal Reception Hall at Uyanwatta Matara. The celebration started around 10.30am with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the guest of honours. Mr. Nandasiri Gamage the Executive Secretary, Mr. Kalyana Gunawardena the Director of National Youth Council, Mr. Ghandirajah and Mr. M.M.Razick lighted the oil lamp. Mr. Nanadasiri Gamage who delivered the welcome address explained the history and objective of the organization with the services rendered within the past six years. Guests of honours expressed their wishes and willingness to help the organization in all its endeavours. Executive committee for the new year was elected unanimously. This is an organization, which consists of Sinhala, Muslims and Tamils. A noteworthy feature was the cultural events, which took place throughout the session. It was unanimously decided to organize all the ethnic groups in the area and work for peace and harmony. The organization resolved to help the tsunami-affected people in Matara district in various ways using the information already collected in the district that cover four divisional secretarial areas.
